Our most frequent questions and answers
Shatnez is a Hebrew acronym, which stands for combed, spun and woven. This describes the stages in processing fabric: combing the raw fibre, spinning fibres into a thread, and weaving the threads into cloth. This mitzvah to not wear wool and linen that have been spun together still applies to this day.
Any garment you wear that contains wool or linen needs to be checked for shatnez. This includes all men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing. If you are unsure, just be in touch and we will let you know if it needs to be checked.
Yes, we offer a professional alteration service with our in-house tailors either as part of shatnez testing or as an independent service, ensuring all the materials are shatnez free.
